A few weeks ago a few of our Powerkidz were baptized. Our friend Amanda came with her new baby *L*. I did Amanda’s maternity shots a few weeks before *L* joined the family!
I can’t hold new babies very long without getting completely choked up and emotional – but Kurtis snapped a few of me before I had to give her back.
I love the way Jared is looking at me in the next shot.

This sweet little babe turned ONE on Tuesday the 9th!
That was taken the afternoon after she was born – CANNOT believe it has been a year!
On Sunday she had her 1st birthday party!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY *M* – we love you dearly!
For the past three years I have written the names on the diplomas for NCA – I print off the names in a fancy font and then trace the name onto the diploma and write over the trace. Graduation was on Friday night and I finished the diplomas on Wednesday.
On Thursday the headmaster called me to see if I would do the photography for graduation since the usual photographer was out of town.
I took some quick candids at the end of the night.
I love this girlie! She is so sweet and caring and kind – I can’t wait to see what God has in store for her!

My friend Mike Murray is an AMAZING artist!
I took a photo of Ella nearly two years ago that I adore – and wanted Mike to create a painting of the photo. We talked about it and he wanted to try a fabric canvas instead of a traditional painting. He was – and is – busy with Chiropractic school and didn’t have time to devote to the project immediately – I told him I didn’t have a deadline.
He dropped off his creation this weekend – about a year and a few months after we first talked – and it was WELL WORTH THE WAIT!

On Saturday I had a bridal shower to attend!
My dear friend KT is getting married in July!
KT lived with us for her student teaching semester in the fall of 2007 – I think – I lose track of time so easily anymore.
KT and I met through a mutual friend while she was in college – I think I have known her for about 5 years now!
KT has second shot with me on a couple weddings and will probably do more! She is a driven, smart, devoted woman who I am glad to call my friend.
She is getting married on July 18th – we will go to the rehearsal on Friday night and stay the night with her grandma Friday night and then go to the Inn where the wedding is (which is GORGEOUS) in the morning to take tons of pictures! KT knows just what she wants with pictures and knows that I am loving the extra time and attention that I can take with her wedding! The wedding is a small, family affair at 1 in the afternoon and then we are all staying the night at the Inn Saturday night.
I am looking forward to this wedding so much!
KT – I love you dearly and appreciate your friendship!

Saturday was the first wedding of wedding season this year!
The groom Tony and I have been friends since 6th grade!
Brelin and I had only met once prior to the wedding day – I love her – she is so sweet and fits Tony perfectly.

The thing I miss most about work is seeing Amy’s kids on a regular basis. Luckily – it hasn’t been too bad. There are a few days that Amy and Jim overlap with timing and need someone just for an hour or two – I had told her to give me a call – if I could come – I would.
Yesterday was one of those days!
We came inside for bathroom breaks and princess time. The girls LOVE all the Disney princesses and would spend their entire lives in character if they could!
They tried on my sunglasses – to which Ella announced the she felt like a ROCK STAR!
During the day Ella made the comment about being careful around me so that she doesn’t bump the baby in my tummy. So I explained the best I could that I didn’t have a baby in my tummy anymore. It is hard to describe to someone’s child since you don’t know what they want them to know. She wanted to know why – kids always do – but she did her best to understand. And as kids do – accept something in that moment and move on to coloring or playing princess.
*M* crawled up in my lap later and Ella asked why – I told her that she must have wanted a break and to just sit with me. Ella climbed up too and took my face in her little hands and said – Danielle – since you don’t have a baby anymore – you can pretend for a while that we are your babies. It was all I could do not to cry just a little. I love the honesty and absolute raw emotion of kids.
Amy – I don’t know if I can ever describe to you the impact your kids have on me – especially in times such as this. I love them dearly!
