Top O’ the Hill …

Filed under: scenery — admin at 5:18 pm on Wednesday, December 24, 2008

My parents are starting a new endeavor – Top O’ the Hill Farms – they are raising minis for milk. I am praying that it really takes off for them.

I mentioned earlier that my dad and I took a walk around their property with pictures to follow –

4 weeks old …

Schrute is now 4 weeks old and weighs 5 lbs 9 oz – he is growing fast. The breeders say he is going to be a big, beautiful dane.

We are so thankful for email and being able to see him grow. I have no idea how big he will be when we get him – so it’s nice to see him while he’s little.

One month and one day until we go pick him up!

Last Friday I walked home after our snowstorm and took a few pictures on the way …

We drove to Athens Friday and spent the weekend with my parents – the pictures I posted earlier.

My dad and I took a walk around their property – some of it – and  I took some winter shots – to be posted later. After our walk my dad stopped to say hello to their dog Buddy.

Jared and I left on Monday to come back to Mansfield and happened to see Chuck hit 8000 miles!

This past Friday we had another snowstorm and the clinic closed early. Amy and I had planned on making cookies Sunday afternoon but decided to move it up to Friday afternoon since we weren’t going to be at work. *E* and I rolled and cut out the cookies while Amy manned the oven and the mixing. *A* and *M* ran around and tried to clean up flour off the floor and do the dishes for us.

We made about 8 dozen cookies – *E* had so much fun helping out. Then we cuddled up on the couch and watched Cinderella until Jared came to pick me up. The *E* family asked us to go sledding with them that night – but Jared didn’t have any snow clothes – looks like what they had didn’t fit either.

We bundled up and had a great time. Mara and Mary came over to play ROCK BAND with us and introduce us to Mary’s dog – Chai. Chai is a great dane and we wanted to see what it would be like to have a full grown dane in the house – it will be FUN!

Saturday morning I had a senior session – which I will post later – and then Jared and I ran to Wellsboro to get his license renewed.

Jared and I went to his company’s Christmas dinner at the Antler’s last night – and then today we went to church and Lamb’s Creek for brunch – a great end to good weekend!

We had a present under the tree – to future tot – from gramma and grampa.

I cannot wait to have my little tot wear those someday!

My dad is writing a book – science fiction. I have read what he has thus far and I think it’s pretty good.

Last weekend we had Christmas with my parents – my Gramma Trout – my brother and his wife – and my sister  and her boyfriend. My gift to the family was a family photo and some individual shots.

The whole family –

Catching up …

I have so many posts to write – but that means time to edit and upload the pics that go with them.

With Christmas coming, I haven’t had time or access to Jared’s laptop enough to do any. My set up for the desktop computer isn’t the most comfortable so I try to avoid using it as much as possible.

I spent time with my family this past weekend (taking some much needed family shots), took some sweet landscape shots of the snow, went to an NCA basketball game, made cookies with *E*, and had a senior session this morning.

STAY TUNED.

I found a picture online of a blue great dane puppy – not ours – not from our breeder – just a random sweet puppy …

Today is the tomorrow we worried about yesterday …

Filed under: bardenisms — admin at 5:39 pm on Thursday, December 18, 2008

Fortune cookies sometimes have very insightful sayings – Jared found this one at his favorite Chinese restaurant in Wellsboro – read more about this phrase @ his website.

As for me – today IS the tomorrow I worried about yesterday – never seems nearly as bad as I think. I had a long conversation with a friend yesterday about leaving my position at the clinic – when we determined that we are two very different people with different things we hold dear and important.

I truly believe that barden photography will kick off and I can be truly happy at work. They say it’s called a job for a reason – and I have worked at several jobs and understand that reason. I am putting everything in God’s hands and feel a peace that I don’t normally feel. When Jared and I sought God’s advice on the device for my jaw – I felt a peace about the decision – and for good reason – this little “retainer” has greatly improved my pain and comfort.

I truly believe that God will bless our lives when I leave my position at the clinic. I am not afraid – I am not worried – and if you know me – I am always worried.

I think we could all benefit from knowing that today is the tomorrow we worried about yesterday.
