I remember Mike & Lori from college – or at least I think I do!? I don’t know how else I would have know about them!
She messaged me in the fall talking about scheduling pictures for the spring – BUT – they live two hours from Mansfield – and she REALLY REALLY loved the family sessions at sunset on THE hill!
I messaged her the morning of our session to let her know that the grass was TOO long on THE hill – but I figured out some spots that would work. She REALLY wanted THE hill – so we agreed to reschedule till the hay was cut! I drove by the property trying to figure out something to make it work and IT WAS CUT! I messaged Lori to let her know we could still be on if they wanted!
It was a go!!
BUT – the edges were still PERFECT for our session!
ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!

When I showed her those shots on the back of my camera – she said – THIS is why we drove two hours for pictures!!

Megan and I met because I needed a backup photographer for a wedding when I was pregnant with Fitzy!
Turns out – I didn’t need someone else to do the wedding – but Megan and I became friends.
I have a list of women that want to have a baby – grow their family – and Megan asked if I would pray for her.
Fitzy and her oldest are about a year apart and we’ve been good friends ever since!
That’s her oldest – on the right! He used to call Fitzy – Ipsy. And we ALL miss it!!
AND NOW – Megan has two little boys and two little girls – BE STILL MY HEART!!

I met Carrie last year through our local MOPS group and took their photos last spring – but it was time for some NEW photos – like I said – you really should be getting professional family photos every year!!
I love how kids interpret directions! I asked her to give her cheek a squeeze – her mom’s cheek! BUT – she did exactly what I told her!
Nope – still not what I meant – but it IS what I said!

LIFE WITH THE BARDENS
After the mini sessions – I took some photos of MY kiddos!!
We did our own creek exploring before the sessions and the boys asked Nan to go with us. She owns the property that I use for sessions sometimes – and it has an AMAZING creek!!
We spent an hour and a half exploring and then the boys stayed with Nan and Gordon to have dinner!
This guy – he’s super silly!!
Sometimes I still can’t believe that I’m their mom! And that they’re 8 and 5!

The boys took some pictures of Jared and I – nearing our 15 year anniversary!
I really do believe that you MUST have family photos every year – but even if you don’t get professional ones – make sure YOU get in front of the camera – not just behind it!
