What a night …

Filed under: bardenisms, website update — admin at 10:25 pm on Wednesday, November 5, 2008

I have Tuesday afternoons off work at the clinic – and Jared did not feel well yesterday so he slept all morning. I came home from work- made lunch – took some clothes to the dry cleaners – dropped off *K*’s senior pictures to her mom – did laundry – and worked on my ideas for updating my website.

At 3 I has an appt. with my doctor for my recurring stomach issues. Lately I haven’t been able to get up or go to bed without a nagging stomach ache – I am thinking it’s just stress. My appt. was at 3 – like I said – at 3.30 I got up to ask the receptionist when I would be taken in – she said I was next. At 4 they called my name – and 4.30 the doctor came in. Now – I know that I work in a PT clinic so it’s a little different but I have never EVER had to have a patient wait that long! So I described my symptoms and they want to test me for an ulcer! So I was right – ulcers are caused by stress, right? Wrong.  Seems that they are caused by a bacteria in your stomach. So we have to set up that fun appt. (if you could pray for me that God heals me without even having to go get checked out – that would be wonderful)

So I thought we would stop at Verizon on our way to vote ‘cus my phone has stopped alerting me of missed calls and voice mails. We were at Verizon for about 50 minutes with the guy on the phone with the tech and resetting my phone and then reinstalling my phone and then resetting my phone and good news is that the VM and missed call alert works but now my phone goes straight to VM when I get a call. So now after almost an hour wait I am getting a new phone shipped to me!

Verizon is right across the street from the Boro building so we walked over to vote – the line was out the door and around the sidewalk up to the church! We voted in 2004 and we had to wait maybe 10 minutes – if that. This year – 42 minutes later – we voted. I was numebr 1212 at 6.42 PM. It will be interesting to see how Tioga County voted as a whole.

It was an afternoon and evening of waiting – which tired me out – I fell asleep at 9.30 while Jared and I watched coverage of the election!

I think I must have been in line waiting for more nervousness and worry to be handed out when God was giving out the qualities of patience and sympathy!

Wish list …

Filed under: bardenisms — admin at 10:08 pm on Wednesday, November 5, 2008

Christmas wish list time –

I don’t need a new camera bag – but I would sure like this one.

While we are at the camera bag – I wouldn’t mind this cover.

This one would work too.

I don’t want a new computer – I NEED one. This one.

With a new computer comes Photoshop and other fun programs.

A new camera too?

Lenses and more lenses

Oh and how can I forget – more bookings!!

Class of 2009 …

Filed under: seniors — admin at 10:44 pm on Sunday, November 2, 2008

I had another GREAT senior session yesterday. *K* goes to Mansfield High School and wanted some fall shots. We set up in my backyard and then down at the old Boro garage – where I found my new favorite prop! We ended back at her house to take some shots in the grove she grew up playing in.

Check out http://bardenphotography.shutterfly.com under the *M* book for her complete series.

This Lincoln – I think – was at the old Boro garage just begging to be photographed. I can’t wait to have a wedding in Mansfield and a bride who is up for shooting with this car.

In need of a massage?

Filed under: friends — admin at 10:37 pm on Sunday, November 2, 2008

I know a GREAT massage therapist – Mary Love – she works at the clinic with me as our massage therapist. We had a Wellness Fair the other night and I grabbed this quick shot of us.

I am so glad to have met her – we are very different people but share the same sense of humor and sarcasm. Not to mention she gives GREAT massages!

Surprise!

Last night we went downtown to surprise *J* for his birthday. *A* had planned for a while to get together and have a surprise “party” for his birthday. *J* seemed pretty surprised to have everyone waiting for him. We asked the guy doing live music to sing Happy Birthday and had the bartender hunt down some birthday candles for *A* to put on his cake.

I love the new setting I discovered on my camera –

Harvest …

Every year at the end of October we have our Harvest dinner at church. We have yummy food, great fellowship, and entertainment.

*A* was Bob Bark the Truth for a play the little kids put on.

Then he acted out a song with the cute little preface of “I like this song because God never lets us go.”

Marry me?

Filed under: marry me — admin at 12:15 am on Saturday, November 1, 2008

For the complete engagement album – http://bardenphotography.shutterfly.com under *M* – you can find my shots along with those that PM caught.

PM has a good friend *M* who recently got engaged. He is heading off for training with the Army tonight – if he isn’t on his way already. On Monday he proposed to *T* and had already set up engagement pictures with me for Tuesday afternoon at Penn State – where they both attend college. PM went with me and took my second camera – she is getting really good. We left at 2 for the shoot time of 4 – we knew that Sarah Palin would be in State College that night speaking at 8 – but the parking was already packed. We had to park in one of the parking garages where I made the mistake of just thinking I could drive right in after *M* since I was in the guest lane – I know it sounds lame – but I really don’t drive all that much – I HATE it – and avoid it at all costs. Then I got twisted around in the parking garage and ended up backing up over a curb and ripping the mud flap off Pam (the Stratus) **side note – the Jeep is named Chuck after our favorite female role on TV then the Stratus is Pam after our second favorite** and looking like a giant weirdo. *M* wanted to take pictures next to the shrine – which I didn’t know what it was – I know – again – how lame of me.

Here are some of my favorite shots from PM –

I love that she can get some money shots that I miss – she knows right where to be.

Totally PM’s idea – I love this shot – the flags – the darkness – LOVELY. This was one of the last shots of the session – *M* and *T* treated us to wings and burgers at her apartment and then we headed out back to Mansfield. We left PSU at 8 and got home about 10 – long night – but it was fun. PM and I had good conversation and kept each other company – and we had a great shoot – and a wedding booking!

Here are some of my faves –
