When we had our AMAZING session with Rachel Absher in November – I though for sure I would be ordering a canvas print from her – but her collages were so tempting!

I dropped off our print at The Hidden Artist in Troy a few weeks ago to have it matted & framed – and COULD NOT BE HAPPIER!

Thank you again Rachel for our BEAUTIFUL photos! Thank you Steve for the AMAZING matting & framing job!

Sam & Kristin have two beautiful boys at home and welcomed a baby girl in mid-February!

Sam is part of the *V* family that I have photographed on several different occasions! I love this family!

I visited Kristin in the hospital the day *E* was born!

She is so precious!

Look at that little smile!

I love that last photo – such a special moment! Thank you so much for allowing me to capture these few frames for you!

Once Kristin had been home for a few weeks – we set up her newborn session!

We had to get some shots of their family first!

Dadda and his girl!

I know that picture on the left is blurry – but I just LOVE it!

Their oldest – *B* – he is such a sweet little guy!

Their little guy – *I* – he cuddled right up with me!

How sweet is she!

SO SWEET!

She DID NOT like the tutu – but I couldn’t resist with this picture!

Thank you again Sam & Kristin! I cannot wait for our babies to grow up together!

30 WEEKS

Filed under: baby barden, bardenisms, expecting, just because — admin at 2:01 pm on Sunday, February 27, 2011

We are 30 weeks pregnant today! Which means we only have 10 weeks left!! 70 DAYS!

At our last appointment I was right on target with my belly measurements. I still eat first thing in the morning or I get sick – and my hips hurt. Sometimes I feel like they are popping out of their joints! Fitzy is moving around and pushing my belly up and out! I don’t feel him nearly as much as I would like to – but he must be chill and laid back like his dadda!

Our baby showers are coming up in March and April – I am so excited to see everyone and just be thankful for this life in my tummy!

Here are the comparative photos at 15 and 20 and 25 and 30 weeks!

I cannot wait to have maternity photos taken! In the meantime – Jared took some quick shots for me when we were 27 weeks pregnant!

And then again at 29 weeks!

I am still in shock that I actually have my OWN maternity photos – that there is a little boy kicking my insides!

GOD IS SO GOOD!

Thank you again to everyone who reads my blog, supports my photography, and rejoices with us over this miracle!

SWEET BABY *C*

I have known Belinda since 8th grade – where we met at church! We both went to Mansfield University and share a close friend – Jessica! Jessica was a bridesmaid in my wedding and Belinda’s! Belinda and I were both in Jessica’s wedding!

Belinda & Nate were the third wedding that I photographed! I took their engagement photos long before I even thought about starting a photography business!

They have gone through so much heartache in their dream to have a child – we have cried together and prayed together.

Now we are rejoicing together!

*C* was born on January 27th and I just had to get over to the hospital to see them the next day! I could hardly keep it together walking in that room – so much emotion!

Knowing that Belinda and Nate have been waiting years for this moment – and now it’s here – was just too much to take!

Little *C* is about 30 hours old in these photos!

The first thing I said when I walked in the room and saw him was – HE IS SO FAT! This is an instance where I don’t think before I speak – it happens more often than not! But you see – the thing is – I LOVE LOVE LOVE chubby babies! The fatter the better – and he is just so chubby!!

HOW AMAZING AND PRECIOUS IS HE!

I added the watercolor effect to this one! He is just so precious – I can’t get enough!

Belinda & Nate – thanks so much for letting me come over and snap some photos of him – and share in your joy! We are SO happy for both of you!

. BRAND NEW .

. BRAND NEW .

For me – there is nothing like a brand new baby! All I have ever wanted to be is a momma – and that is finally happening! I have been watching Bringing Home Baby and A Baby Story like it’s my job lately – which has just stirred my passion for photography more and more!

When I think about that moment when our child enters the world – I start to panic. Not for the reasons that you would normally think though! The photographer in me thinks about all the moments that I want captured on film forever that I won’t be able to get! I am so thankful for a fellow photographer who will be with us during those moments – to capture what I can’t.

Just like the . BECOMING YOU WHO ARE . sessions – I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately and want to be able to capture those moments for the families that want them! It’s something that I would have always offered but never really advertised. Lots of women would prefer that the camera is very far away during those moments – and there are those that want nothing more than to have it all on film! Make sure to clear the session with your hospital and doctor – some places won’t allow it!

The thing about . BRAND NEW . sessions is that they are unexpected – for the most part! You never know when labor will hit – whether 3 AM or 3 PM!

I haven’t done a birth session yet – but am looking forward to it so much!

These shots are of a miracle and her momma! She isn’t even 24 hours old in these photos – such a precious time to be able to capture! I love stopping by the hospital to see friends with their new babies – and of course I have to bring my camera!

. BRAND NEW .

Since I haven’t done a . BRAND NEW . session yet – the first one to book will receive a 30 page album of the experience!

Thank you again to all of you that support me. pray for me. encourage me. love me.

. BRAND NEW . BECOMING WHO YOU ARE . BE YOURSELF . for all those moments in your life!

25 WEEKS PREGNANT

Filed under: baby barden, expecting, just because — admin at 9:31 am on Sunday, January 23, 2011

We are 25 weeks pregnant today! Which means we only have 15 weeks left!! That’s 105 days! OH MY WORD!

At our appointment last week I was right on target with my belly at 24 cm. I still need to eat first thing in the morning or else I get sick. Most nights I wake up and eat in the middle of the night – I have bananas and donuts right next to the bed! I’ve also started getting up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom – which means it’s tough to fall back asleep after that. I am exhausted and getting sore – but other than that – feeling good!

A few weeks ago I started to feel real movement! I was editing when I saw my belly bounce! Yesterday – Jared really felt him move for the first time! I love feeling him bounce around in there – it makes me stop and say a prayer of thankfulness!

I am looking forward to Saturday morning cuddling with Jared, Schrute, and Fitzy! I am so excited about holding our baby boy and seeing his face! I hope he has his dadda’s eyes and lips – his heart and his laugh!

My clients (friends) are so amazing – giving gifts for Fitzy when I have a session with them! Thank you so much everyone!!

Here are the comparative photos at 15 and 20 and 25 weeks!

The Birth of Jesus – Luke 2:1-20

1 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register.

4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

Can you imagine being those shepherds? Just sitting there watching your sheep at night – making sure nothing attacks – making sure they are all there – and then – AN ANGEL APPEARS! The angel tells them that a Savior is born – the Messiah – the Lord! More angels come and sing and exalt God! Then the shepherds look at each other and say – let’s go check this out!

I love this account telling of the shepherds – I just cannot put myself in their shoes! They find Mary and Joseph and Jesus – did they ask to hold Him – did they kiss His tender little head – did they give Him back to Mary when he started crying? Did those shepherds tell their own grandchildren that they once held the Savior of the world as a baby – that THEY were the messengers of God to spread the good news?

Today – as Fitzy jumps around in my tummy – I am humbled that God would let me borrow him for a while – that God trusts us with His precious creation. I am wondering what exactly Mary was thinking – was she concerned with the fact that He was indeed the Savior of the world or more so that He would sleep through the night?

Thank You God for giving Your Son – Jesus. Thank you Mary for being a wonderful momma to our Lord. Thank you Joseph for loving your Son and His mother. Thank you shepherds for being in that field that night!
